What is important to you? What do you really search for in life?

People will work for and spend their time looking for what they value most.

Luke 12:34 - "For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”

This is true with physical things and it is also true with spiritual things.

We invest in what in what we are interested in.

There is no more valuable or important goal but to be rewarded with a home in heaven. Christians must invest in heaven.

Matthew 6:19-21

19 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.

20 "But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;

21 for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The rich man in Luke 18:22-27 told Jesus he had kept the commandments since his youth, but wanted to know what else he needed to do to inherit eternal life.

22 When Jesus heard this, He said to him, "One thing you still lack; sell all that you possess and distribute it to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me."

23 But when he had heard these things, he became very sad, for he was extremely rich.

24 And Jesus looked at him and said, "How hard it is for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!

25 "For it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God."

26 They who heard it said, "Then who can be saved?"

27 But He said, "The things that are impossible with people are possible with God."

Where are you spending your time?  What are you spending your money on?  Who are you associating with?  If others were to look at you and your lifestyle, could they tell what is most important in your life?  Where is your treasure?
